Mindsets for Creativity

Presented by: Geof Hammond, Senior Consultant, Allison Partners

Location: Unity of Charlottesville, 2825 Hydraulic Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22901

SESSION CONTENT SUMMARY: Leaders, managers, and associates in today’s organizations are encouraged to be more innovative. Teams are told they must be more creative and continuously innovative to be competitive. Many organizations invest in innovation processes – the “how” of innovation – without consideration for the “why or way” of innovation. This emphasis on process does not address individuals, and their cognitive barriers to innovation. With an emphasis on process, few individuals are equipped with the ways to think more creatively while engaged in innovation processes.

Organizations that want to encourage innovation should consider a mindset for creativity in addition to processes for innovation. The Mindsets for Creativity will introduce four tenets of creative thinking to foster a creative mindset. Based on research from a collaboration with State University of New York at Binghamton, Geof Hammond’s presentation will be both interactive and informative, equipping you with the tools you need to nurture a creative mindset.
